Everyday Makeup Routine

Sorry for the lack of posts yesterday! I had a super busy day yesterday, but I'll let you guys know about that in a separate post!
So today I thought I would do a post on my everyday makeup routine using only drugstore products! I've gone through each stage step by step and added pictures to go along with the steps. I'll also list all the products I have used to create this look at the end of this post.

So the first thing I like to do is make sure I have completely removed any makeup from my face from the previous day. To do this I use the 3 in 1 Fragrance Free Facial Wipes from Skin Therapy. As I have quite dry skin, especially in the Autumn/Winter months, I like to apply a moisture as a base for my makeup. At the minute I am trying out the Vanilla Cupcake Body Lotion from beauticology.

Once the moisturiser has sunken into my skin, I move onto concealer. I only ever tend to use concealer if I have any blemishes as I luckily do not get many dark circles, however I still apply my concealer to my under eyes to give me more coverage if I feel that I need it. The concealer I am using today is the Lasting Perfection Concealer from Collection.

I gently blend the concealer into my skin using my index finger. For more sensitive areas such as the under eyes, I recommend patting the concealer into your skin instead of blending.
If I am having a good skin day and feel like I do not need any more coverage I would happily leave the house after this step!
As you can see by the picture below, this concealer really does provide excellent coverage.

Next is foundation! One of my recent purchases is the Match Perfection Foundation by Rimmel. I am hoping to get a review of this foundation up by the end of this week so keep an eye out for that! Anyway, to apply my foundation I use a small foundation brush. With this foundation two squirts, usually covers the entirety of my face. I gently buff the foundation into my skin and use my hands to blend any areas in which there is too much product. I also make sure to take the foundation down to me neck in order to eliminate any harsh lines.

After I have applied my foundation, I mattify my face using a translucent powder. I have chosen to use Rimmel's Stay Matte Powder. This powder is also excellent for setting and holding your foundation in place throughout the day.

I use a large powder brush to dust the powder onto my face. I usually don't dust the powder all over my face because as I said before, my skin tends to be pretty dry in the colder months. I therefore only apply this powder to my T- Zone as this is the area which is most likely to be oiliest throughout the day if any.
Once I have applied my powder, I move onto filling in my eyebrows. To do so I use the Shape & Brow Kit from Accessorize. The kit contains a 3 shades; Light Brown, Dark Brown and Black. As my hair is dark brown I use the second shade.

To apply the brow powder onto my eyebrows I use a small angled brush. I pat on the powder to any areas of my brow which may look sparse. I also extend the ends of my brows to create a more prominent brow.

The next step is to apply eyeliner to my upper lashline. For this I am going to be using the Extreme Felt Tip Liner from Collection. To do so I start at the outer corner and work my way in, trying to maintain the same thickness of the line, I then go back over to the outer corner and thicken the line, this creates the illusion of having bigger eyes as the line starts off thin in the inner corner and thicket in the outer corner.

If you find you've smudged your eyeliner anywhere, simply take your foundation brush and go over the smudge, this covers any mistakes using the foundation that is already on your brush from applying it previously! I then apply my Barry M Lash Vegas Mascara. I find applying it in a Zig Zag motion works best as it prevents clumping and reaches those smaller lashes.

The final step to complete the look is apply a lipstick or lipgloss. And let's be honest, this is everyone's favourite part of applying your makeup as you get to make this fabulous pouty face ;) As this is an everday look I have gone for a nude colour in the Rimmel Appocalips range. This shade is called Nude Eclipse.

And that is the look complete!
