Spring Makeup - Highlighting

Finally the weather is starting to brighten up here in the UK which means I often wear a softer and overall fresher makeup look. I achieve this by highlighting certain areas of my face. So hopefully this post will be helpful to any highlighting beginners!

First of you need to start with a base. A duet foundation is great if you're looking to add a healthy glow to your skin. Rimmel's Wake me Up is the best brightening foundation I have come across. It doesn't lack in coverage which a lot of duet foundations do. Assuming you get the correct shade which is key, this foundation is great for adding a natural looking glow to your skin whilst still covering any imperfections. It's not cakey either which means it makes a great base thanks to it's light formula.
Next to apply is concealer to any darker areas which need a little extra coverage. For this I use MUA's Illuminating concealer. I only apply this under my eyes as I'm prone to dark circles. At under £5 this concealer is great for brightening up the under eyes and high points of your face.
The last product to finish off the look is MUA's illuminating powder. Both the concealer and powder are from MUA's Undress your skin range. This comes in two shades but I find the gold shade better for yellow undertones. If applied heavy handed this powder can be a little too glittery, but a light sweep across your cheekbones looks great caught in the sunlight.
