How to Transition Your Summer Wardrobe into Autumn

One thing I always find difficult at this time of year is putting outfits together. It's officially October now which means the Autumn trends are coming in as the weather begins to change. I think as soon as Autumn hits, a lot of people think they need to completely get rid of their summer wardrobe and start replacing it with chunky knits, scarves and gloves. When in reality, it isn't quite that cold yet (fingers crossed!).

For me, Autumn is almost about recycling a handful of your summer pieces. Looking at your wardrobe and thinking 'How Can I adapt this for Autumn?'. They keys to this are changing up your colour palettes, switching up your accessories, and layers!

As I previously mentioned, switching up your colour palettes is a great way to transition into Autumn. Which means I'm swapping out my usual bright, and colourful pieces, and opting for more neutral, and warmer tones. This year I've been totally in love with wearing skirts! Why? Because they're so versatile. Not only can they be dressed up or down, but they're something that can be worn all throughout the year, depending on how and what you wear them with.

I fell in love with the colour of this little denim skirt as soon as I saw it, it's perfect for this time of year! Like I said before, it's not too cold yet where I can't rock the bare legs look, but as we get further into October, and into November, throw on some cosy tights and swap your flats and sandals for some chunky boots and you're good to go!

As for your tops, layering is a great way to transform your summer outfits! My go to outfit in the summer months seemed to be a cami bodysuit, with a cute little skirt and some sandals/flats. So by either layering the outfit with a chunky knit cardigan, or a blazer, or even switching up the cami style for a long sleeved style with a thicker material, can totally change up your outfit! I adored the print of this bodysuit and the colours complimented the skirt perfectly! I really love the way it actually looks more like you're just wearing a smart shirt. I'm usually not a fan of long sleeves, but I have to say this bodysuit has totally changed my mind!

For accessories, it's pretty simple enough. For this outfit I'd get rid of the sandals, and throw on some  black ankle or thigh high boots, and instead of wearing a smaller bag or clutch as I do in Summer, I'd pick out maybe a bigger handbag in black or a nude to go with everything!
