The Fashion Diaries: My Winter Wardrobe Staples

Something I've always wanted to share more of on my blog is outfits and fashion content. If you follow me on Instagram you know that I share all of my outfits on there. However, I thought this little blog series would be a great way to talk about what pieces I've been loving lately and where you can get them from. Think of it sort of like a little diary insert!

So to kick things off I thought I'd share what pieces I've been wearing all throughout the winter that have become new wardrobe staples!

Leather Leggings

Leather trousers have always been a favourite of mine! However the only pair I own are super skinny, and I'm often left feeling a bit like Ross Geller. So instead I ordered some faux leather leggings from Femme Luxe and oh my god they've changed my life. Not only do they look amazing, but because they're leggings they are incredibly comfortable! Leather leggings are so easy to dress up or down that I've gotten so much use out of them. Paired with some chunky trainers and a cosy knit, they're perfect for day to day wear. Or swap your trainers out for some heels and a little clutch bag and you're set for after work drinks!

With the weather getting a lot colder, I've been trying to opt for trousers whenever I can to save my poor legs from freezing! Something I remember absolutely loving when I was younger is cargo trousers, so you can imagine how excited I was when they came back in fashion! Cargo trousers are so easy to style for day to day wear. With so many colour options, and different patterns to choose from you can still make your everyday outfit look super stylish! Personally I love the classic khaki green trousers as I wear a lot of black so they match perfectly.

Jumper Dresses

Speaking of the winter weather, it's definitley time to pull out the chunky knits! If I'm having a really chilled out day I like to opt for jumper dresses purely for comfort. If I'm having a cosy day in, I find them perfect for lounging as they're so comfortable and snuggly. However, styled up right they can be great for smarter occasions. This gorgeous dusky pink jumper dress looks great paired with a classic blazer, and some heels. For the office and meetings, jumper dresses are a great choice for looking classy whilst still being warm and toasty!

Blazers

And the final item I've been reaching for a lot this winter is the classic blazer! Blazers are often associated with office wear and just generally looking smart. However, I absolutely love dressing blazers down for more casual day to day wear too! Pair with some jeans, and heels for lunch with the gals, or layer with a hoodie and trainers for the ultimate streetwear look. Again with so many styles, colours and designs it's easy to integrate them into your wardrobe - my favourite being the classic black & white check blazer which is from Femme Luxe!
