A City Stay at the Leonardo Boutique Hotel Termini, Rome.

Normally when planning a trip, I look for the best luxe hotels I can find on a budget. I usually can find pretty good deals on some high end hotels whether that's using members rates, or various discount codes. However for my birthday trip to Rome, I really wasn't too fussed on finding the most luxurious hotel possible. I mean for starters we were going in July, so prices were already a little bit higher than usual with the larger more grand hotels located in top tourist areas costing a lot more than we were willing to pay! I prefer more modern hotels, which let me tell you is quite hard to come across in Rome with a lot of them being more classically decorated. But we did manage to find a little gem that was reasonably priced, and couldn't have been more perfect for transport links - The Leonardo Boutique Rome Termini!

Location / The Hotel

The Leonardo Boutique Hotel Rome Termini is a 4 start boutique hotel located in the historical city with Rome's Termini Train Station just a few minutes away by foot. From this station you have total freedom to travel around the city, or further out to other popular destinations such as Naples via the metros and trains. This couldn't have been a bigger help for us! As I mentioned in my Rome City Guide, the metros were very affordable and drastically cut down journey times if compared to travelling by foot. Around the hotel you'll find various cafes, restaurants and small shops. This great if you want a more relaxing evening with dinner right on your door step.

And the hotel itself was such a great find! Not only is the decor elegant and modern, but the hotel is equipped with various leisure facilities such as a gym, sauna, jacuzzi and roof terrace. There is also a dining area for breakfast, and a cosy bar for an evening drink.

Our Room

As this is a boutique hotel it is more on the small and friendly side with only 81 rooms available. That doesn't stop this hotel being wonderfully managed, and offering various rooms for all family and traveller sizes. We opted for the Deluxe Double Room just to have a little bit more space. With a city break kind of trip, I never look for too much from my hotel as it's more so just used as a base for exploring, with not a lot of time being spent there. The Leonardo Boutique Hotel Rome Termini made for a not only a fantastic base for both travellers and business guests, but was also a really beautiful modern hotel that exceeded our expectations.

As mentioned, we stayed in a Deluxe Double Room which wasn't huge but that's expected from most city hotels, yet was still a comfortable size with a spacious double bed, considering how little time we'd probably be spending there. The room had a lovely view of the city streets and had some bright colourful artwork to bring more character to the space. There was also a fridge, coffee and tea facilities and a safe which is a must have. If you're someone who likes to work on the go there's also a handy little desk space for you too. The bathroom was pretty spacious with a large bath and rainfall shower head. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and the staff were so friendly - upon arrival I was greeted with a birthday card, balloons and mini chocolates!
