Making Fitness Fun: How to Reignite your Passion for Playing Sport

Do you feel as though you aren’t as passionate about sports as you once were? If so then now is the time for you to make a change. Here you will find out what steps you can take to reignite your love for sports, while also making sure that you don’t fall into the same traps again.

Check for Other Factors
One of the first things you need to do is check for other factors. If you have fallen out of love with sports, is this because of a genuine loss of interest? Or is it the coach of your current team? Is it that you have a fear of failure? What about performance anxiety? If you are currently dealing with things like this then you need to try and make a change. If you don’t then you may never regain your love for your chosen sport and your fitness can take a hit as a result. It may be that you need to change teams or that you need to start playing with friends, rather than playing competitively. If you want to get the best of both worlds then you could even start your own sports team. If you are interested in doing this then you can always get a custom sports kit online.

Remember why you Started
Why did you begin to play sports in the first place? Was it because you noticed that all of your friends were? Maybe your parents forced you. For a lot of people, the reason for playing was pure joy. As you grow older, you may find that the pressure to perform well starts piling on and this can put the focus on your stat line more than your general happiness. This is the last thing you need. If you want to make a positive change here then make sure that you reminisce about why you love sport and what you can do to find that passion once more.

Shift your Focus
If you can shift your focus then this gives you the chance to examine where it is you are placing your focus. If you just don't enjoy training then this is fine, but make sure that you accept this truth and then move on. A lot of people lose passion because something is sucking the passion out of what they are doing. If you just focus on stats then you will probably lose your focus. Failure is a natural part of life, so if you use success as being the benchmark of your happiness then this will work against you. You may even find that you struggle to get the motivation to play sports as well. Sure, people want to do their best, but if you feel as though you are not performing to your full potential then this could be because you are not playing for the right reasons.

If you can keep the above in mind then you are bound to get to the bottom of why you are struggling so much with your motivation, so keep that in mind.
