Hello my lovelies,
Cleaning your makeup brushes is one of those mundane tasks which we try to put off as long as possible. However it must be done. When you're using brushes to apply makeup day after day, you are picking up any bacteria from your skin and transferring it onto the brush. So just imagine how much there will be after days and days of using them. Yikes!
I'm going to share with you how and what I use to clean your makeup brushes. If like me, you use them everyday, I would recommend cleaning them at least once a week.
The only thing I use other than water obviously, is Johnsons Baby Shampoo. This is a good alternative to brush cleansers as not only is it cheaper, but it is also gentle enough that it is not going to damage your brushes in any way.
1. Fill up your sink with lukewarm water.
2. Swirl your brushes in the water. This will get rid of the majority of the makeup on the brush.
3. For each brush and a small drop of shampoo to the top of the brush.
4. Gently massage the shampoo into the brush, almost as if you were washing your own hair!
5. Once lathered up, rinse away the shampoo from the brush. Your brushes should be left spotless, if not repeat until clean!
6. Very Important step- Mould your brushes back into shape with your fingers! If not, your brushes will dry in the shape you have left them in.
7. Lay the brushes onto a towel overnight to dry.
And there you go, they will be squeaky clean!
Much Love
I never wash my brushes and it's something I should really get in to a habit of doing. I'm terrible!
